Network (1976) refers to the fictional UBS channel. With its nightly news ratings in the gutter, the network brings in icy executive Faye Dunaway from the entertainment division. This works out well for psychotic anchorman Peter Finch. He gets fired and takes to the airwaves with a wild rant that makes him an overnight sensation. Dunaway instantly cultivates his craziness, while veteran news guy William Holden is disgusted--although not so disgusted that he doesn’t enjoy some entertainment from Faye’s fine femme form.
