A little before the Second World War, a German Jewish immigrant family seeks exile in Kenya. Not every family member is happy about the situation, but by the time they set out, things in Germany are proving to be inhospitable for the Jews, so they have no option of turning back. The family starts a running farm once they get to Kenya, and they must rearrange their lives to the new environment on the continent they now call home.
