A Netflix film adaptation of the best selling romance novel by Emily Henry, the story focuses on two friends, Poppy (Emily Bader) and Alex (Tom Blyth). Poppy is a carefree travel writer while Alex is a more of a homebody, but after meeting via a very When Harry Met Sally-coded road trip from Boston to Ohio, they decide to spend a week-long vacation with each other in a different place each year. Their connection deepens with every trip, which may or may not have had an affect on Alex's on-again-off-again relationship with his girlfriend Sarah (Sarah Catherine Hook) - that is, until Poppy and Alex spend a fateful week in Tuscany where the friendship hits a serious snag. When Poppy gets an invite to Alex’s brother David (Miles Heizer)’s wedding in Barcelona, she decides to go and use it as a chance to patch things up with Alex. Their reunion is tense but we eventually learn what drove them apart, but honestly we are more interested in getting more skintimate details about the group skinny dipping scene that happens just over thirty-seven minutes in.
