British sex comedies have come a long way from the days of nudie romps about window washers. The sci-fi fantasy Pervirella (1997) stars Emily Booth (aka “Emily Bouffante”) in the titular role as a magical nymphomaniac, out to free her underground race from the oppressive rein of Queen Victoria. Fortunately, Pervirella comes equipped with a sex drive of lethal intensity. She doesn’t waste any opportunity to put it to good use, either, and takes on everyone from rebel agents to a coven of witches.
