For Shaft in Africa (1973), Roundtree’s bad-ass detective takes his swagger to a distant dark continent, but he retains his silky smooth way with the ladies. Whether they be black, white or in between, damsels in the line of Shaft’s investigation (witnesses, suspects, waitresses who happen upon the scene) have a winning way of shedding their groovy ’70s duds and sharing their natural and hip ’70s bods with the king of blaxploitation.
