Sprung (1997) is the black version of a romantic comedy, and it suffers the same misunderstandings and goofs that make for comedy in any race. But it's always the girls who get audiences' pants sprung, and that's true here. Tisha Campbell writhes in an itsy-bitsy black bra and panties with her man, while Paula Jai Parker is already mam-handling her ample T&A by the opening credits and then gives a guy the ride of his life, though covering her big girls with satin sheets. Romantic maybe, but there’s nothing funny about that.
