Stephen (Emile Hirsch) is an unassuming mechanic/gas station clerk whose quiet life with his girlfriend Alicia (Tatjana Nardone) is completely upended when a dead body is found in a vintage car where he works. With his fingerprints all over the vehicle, the police charge him with murder but he continues to maintain his innocence and eventually pleads insanity due to a past misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia. Stephen is sentenced to eighteen months in a psychiatric facility under the care of Dr. Fielder (Kesia Elwin), continuously being restrained and drugged. Somehow things get even worse after his release, and he finds himself constantly questioning reality as he searches for the truth about how he got there. The movie kicks off with Emile and Tatjana in bed, giving us some nice looks at Irish Irish-Italian actress in her bra both before and after they get freaky in the sheets.
