In the sensitive and appealing coming-of-age drama Summer Storm (2004), two best friends and fellow rowers, Tobi and Achim, travel to Germany to participate in a summer rowing competition. Sandra, Achim’s girlfriend, is also on the trip, and as she and Achim get closer and closer, Tobi becomes confused about his feelings for his best friend. Things are further complicated when the team’s arch rivals turn out to be a team of gay German rowers. Miriam Morgenstern reveals a wee pair of woodymakers while making love to Achim in the woods.
