Veta (Mariya Yanycheva) is an aspiring actress studying theatre at a university in Moscow. It seems to be one of those intense programs that try to break you down before building you back up, getting to “the very essence” of acting, and for Veta that involves delving headfirst into the childhood trauma of being abandoned by her father. Complicating matters even more is her growing attraction to Roman (Mindaugas Papinigis), a visiting director from Poland who becomes her mentor as he leads her through a performance of Anna Karenina. The film marks Mariya’s nudecomer debut, gifting us her Russian rack in several scenes, including a set of racy red-lit flashes of her and Mindaugas having sex in a bathtub where her rump also makes its first on-screen appearance. Plus there’s the added bonus of nudecomer Valeriya Yolkina going full frontal in her big breakout nude scene as she stands in a bathtub.
