The Roger Corman classic A Bucket of Blood (1959) gets a modern makeover starring Anthony Michael Hall in The Death Artist (1995). Walter (Hall) works as a busboy at the pretentious art café Jabberjaw, and longs to be accepted in to the ranks of the art elite. And after he kills his landlady’s’ cat and covers it in plaster to hide the crime, the local bohemians praise his talent. Now Walter feels pressured to produce bigger and better works of art to stay in the spotlight, and pretty soon he’ll turn to murder.
