Mysterious murders are occurring among the gay community in New York’s Chelsea district in The Event (2003). Enter nubile Nick (Parker Posey), a daunting district attorney (and quite the site for hetero eyes) who sets out to get to the bottom of a recent homosexual suicide thought to be homicide. After a thorough skinvestigation, Nick learns that victim Matt (Don McKellar) was dying of AIDS. During a farewell celebration, family, friends, and foes alike all mercifully assisted in the final event that sent Matt ending happily ever after, somewhere over the rainbow.
