Filmed on location in the steamy rain forests of Ski Lanka, The Further Adventures of Tennessee Buck (1988) takes director/star David Keith into fecund wilderness territory that he could never have imagined during the filming of Tennessee Buck’s initial adventures, primarily because there was no precursor to this titular sequel. Buck is a bottle-sucking boozer and jungle guide who takes an uptight white man and wife on safari into the blackest heart of absurdity and prurience. Perhaps if Buck had laid off the juice and not been diverted by the sweet, dark juices of native clam, he might have prevented his charges from falling into the hands of horny cannibals, who chop off the husband’s head and subject the wife to ordeal by boola boola. But if Buck had dried out, he never would have had these further adventures.
