Charismatic and intelligent, he attracted his fair share of followers, including beautiful, bright co-ed Holly Maddux, with whom he enjoyed a five-year relationship. When she attempted to leave him in 1977, he snuffed her, stuffed her in a trunk, and embarked on a flight through Europe, successfully eluding police for nearly twenty years.
