After losing both legs in a terrorist bombing, journalist-turned-teacher Jordi Molla has dedicated his life to stump speeches about the threat Islam poses to the West. Then his wife, Alitalia manager Jane March, is nearly killed during an airport shootout between coppers and terrorists, and he vows to whisk her away from all the madness with a relaxing trip to Turkey. There they meet the titular figure of The Stone Merchant (2006)—he's Harvey Keitel, an Italian gem peddler who also happens to be a terrorist mastermind. Harv pals around with fellow evildoer F. Murray Abraham, who whips people into jihady reveries for a living. But the terrible two keep their doings under wraps, and Jane doesn't know that wanting to do Harv is not going to do much for her safety. When she gets tangled up in his bed, she also gets tangled up in a plot to blow the Western world to kingdom come.
