In The White River Kid (1999), Antonio Banderas and Bob Hoskins star as Morales and Brother Edgar, an adopted father-son duo who travel around Arkansas selling socks. When they meet Apple Lisa Weed (Kim Dickens) and her family, they decide to team up with her brother Reggie (Chad Lindberg). As they become more attached to the family and community, Edgar becomes jealous of the White River Kid (Wes Bentley)'s growing companionship with Morales.
