This French limited series focuses on four women in crisis in the small village of Saint-Paulin during the German invasion of 1914. Their paths intersect when Jeanne is killed and Suzanne takes over her identity, helping at the convent while trying to plan an escape, Carolina decides to help the war effort by manufacturing ambulances, and Marguerite searches for her son who is part of the French army.
