Seventeen-year-old Eglantine (Émilie Dequenne) is at a defining moment in her life, and in order to get things in order she sees a therapist in Yes, but... (2001). Émilie's grumpy parents have a real down-in-the-dumps marriage, with mom depressed and drinking too much and dad philandering and rarely showing up. On top of all that, the poor girl's boyfriend can't really tell the difference between sex and love, she feels unfairly pressured into sucking his baguette, and she's a wee bit uneasy about leaving the nest to boot. Enter Gérard Jugnot, the talkative therapist who offers up support when no one else will; with his help, Émilie screws her head on straight.
