Jim (Will Ferrell) is a widower whose only daughter, Jenni (Geraldine Viswanathan) is about to get hitched and leave the nest. He’s determined to give her the wedding of her dreams at the same inn where he and Jenni’s late mother got married. That inn is on a small island off the coast of Georgia where Margot (Reese Witherspoon) and her younger sister Neve (Meredith Hagner) vacationed as children, so when Neve gets engaged, Margot starts planning for a ceremony at said inn. Because of an unexpected death, both weddings are booked for the same day. Margot and Jim agree to share the venue so both weddings can happen, though they could not be more different in style and attendees (think quiet and classy versus a raucous house party). When things start to inevitably go wrong, Jim and Margot take it a step further and begin to purposefully sabotage each other’s events. The R in RSVP must stand for rack because Reese sports some sexy decolletage while drunkenly giving a toast in a tight dress at the rehearsal dinner - we just wish she’d provided a little more skin-tertainment before the big day!
