To this day, a large cadre of skindustrious film fans are devoted to the mannered, period-piece vampire movies put out by Britain's Hammer Studios in the early 1970s. The force behind this continued fascination is the voluptuous presence of cleavage-and-fangs villainess Ingrid Pitt. Ingrid's full-chested charms rose above all the elaborate Victorian costuming and ponderous speechifying that cloaked the genre at that time. Her whiter-than-milk dairy queens heaved heavy and full in a passion for blood. But it wasn’t always vampire movies and fun for Ingrid. The Polish native was born to two Jewish parents in 1937. When WW2 broke out, she and her family were sent to a concentration camp. They survived and ended up staying in Germany to rebuild their lives after the war. In the 1950’s she met and married an American soldier. The two moved from Berlin to California. After their divorce, Ingrid returned to Europe for a short time before then making the move to Hollywood to pursue acting full time. Things started off well. Ingrid’s first movie was the classic Doctor Zhivago (1965). Throughout the 60’s and 70’s she appeared in more than 40 movies and TV shows but really made a name for herself in the horror and vampire genres.
Pitt graced The Vampire Lovers (1970) with one of the most mesmerizing butt shots of all time. The ass-rich actress stood in a bathtub and lifted her legs to step over the rim, giving loads of backside movement and allowing study of the half loaves in all various stages of tension and repose. Things get bloody sexy in Countess Dracula (1971) when a nude, bloody Ingrid appears behind a dropped curtain. It’s hard to focus on anything other than her giant globes. Sadly, Ms. Pitt passed away in 2010, but(t) Ingrid will forever have a seat among the Pantheon of Skin.
