Much like the original Funny Games (1997)—also by director Michael Haneke—the 2008 update is heavy on the games and light on the funny. A vacationing couple settles into their summer home just in time for a pair of twisted, white-gloved nogoodniks to appear at the door to delight in sadistically torturing the pair and their young son. Balancing out the scariness is a bit of bare-iness from luminous star Naomi Watts, who spends the latter half of the movie in bra and undies. Looks like she got the pants scared off her.
