Ethereal blonde Blanca Estrada was a bright-burning flame across Spanish cinema for the better part of a decade. A former circus performer (and who wouldn’t want to see what was under her big top?), Blanca first screamed and creamed onscreen as Norma in the Spanish B-movie thrillfest It Happened at Nightmare Inn (1973). The horror genre seemed to agree with the lovely, angelic-faced actresss, and she provided a lovely physical pause to the gore in her next few features, as Elena in I Hate My Body and Kathy in The Ghost Galleon, both in 1974. That was also the year Americans were introduced to Blanca, when she played Alice Rennick in Open Season (1974) with Peter Fonda and William Holden, a Spain, Switzerland, United States, and United Kingdom collaboration. In her native country, her cinematic career mostly consisted of on-screen erotic features, including The Book of Good Love (1975), where the sizzler played Doña Endrina, and flashed a little boob. It seems innocent enough, but a critic actually described it as “a broad sample of masculine and feminine nudity, in front and behind, and a constant tension or demonstration of eroticism illustrated with obscenities.” It’s on Skin Central for just this reason, so eloquently explained. For the full effect of bold Blanca, tune in to her role as Ángela in El Francotirador (1978), aka The Sniper, in which she flashes all three Bs, and looks lovely doing so. She’s equally lovely as Madre Elvira in The Traveller (1979), another place where her privates are not so private. Lovely, girl. Just lovely.
