The sexy and skin-ful Carmen Maura, who is the great-grandniece of the ultra-conservative Spanish politician Antonio Maura, has led a less-than-conservative lifestyle and acting career. (That’s a good thing by the way...) Since her debut in the 1969 short El Espíritu, Carmen has appeared in over 70 European cinematic and television productions, although she is best known for her Spanish comedies, in spite of her inherent versatility. Sadly, she’s virtually unknown here in America but in her native Spain, Carmen’s won a multitude of awards, including several Best Actress nods in 1988 for her turn in Mujeres al borde de un ataque de nervios opposite then-fledgling actor Antonio “How You Say…Ahh, Yes” Banderas. It’s still hot as Hell and more than worth the look-see if for no other reason than to see Banderas’ amazed facial expression… We’re surprised his jaw didn’t hit the ground! (Ours would have, for sure…) That particular flash of Skinage wasn’t enough for Carmen, though and a few years later, she flashed her hooters this time sans lingerie in ¡Ay, Carmela!. Try to find it without the subtitles, though… the damned things get in the way when the Twins take the stage.
