Along with fellow islander and co-creator Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, Jason Momoa brings us a dramatic retelling of 18th century Hawaiian history, with himself playing the warrior Kaʻiana. Kaʻiana left his home island of Maui to try and live a peaceful life in Kaua’i with his family, but his powerful uncle King Kahekili (Temuera Morrison, who also played Momoa's father in the Aquaman films) comes over from Maui with other ideas. The king claims it’s been prophesied that their people will be enslaved if the four kingdoms aren’t united under his rule and form an army big enough to counter the invasion. Kahekili seeks out Kaʻiana’s help to usher in this new era, but his nephew is resistant, so Kahekili confides that the visions shows Ka’iana as “The Chosen One”, destined to lead their people to victory, in order to persuade him to join the fight. Speaking of visions, Luciane Buchanan is a vision in her tribal garb but even more so when she takes it off, even if we only get a smidgen of sideboob from behind. Her teases of skin will make you feel like a volcano ready to erupt!
