Adapted from a play by Tennessee Williams, the steamy drama The Rose Tattoo (1955) stars Anna Magnani as Serafina Delle Rose, a woman who becomes increasingly withdrawn after her husband is killed while being chased by police. Marisa Pavan is her daughter Rosa, who wants to break free of her mother and pursue a relationship with Jack Hunter (Ben Cooper). Serafina disapproves until she learns that her long-dead husband had been unfaithful to her and that a new suitor (Burt Lancaster) is trying to win her over. You may see a tattoo, but in the Oscar-winning classic you can forget about seeing any tit-twos.
